Real life testimony: I wear makeup “simply for wanting to make a difference on the most special days”
Talking about makeup is for me as big a challenge as the actual task of putting on makeup. If you think I'm going to make a grand text about makeup techniques, products or unfailing tricks to disguise this or to improve that. You are mistaken, that’s not going to happen.
I would like to tell you how I deal with the subject of makeup and all the paraphernalia associated with it. Well, in short, I only wear makeup at special events: weddings, baptisms, birthday parties, a few nights out (those that my mental state still allows), and so on…
On a daily basis, I'm not a fan of a specific type of makeup, just an essential moisturizing cream. The two explanatory reasons for only wearing makeup on special occasions are: the lack of time (not abundant in the mornings) is the first reason and the second reason, this one is more serious, is the simple fact of wanting to make a difference on these special days.
Although I do not wear makeup daily, the fact is, that when I do, my self-esteem improves, and my confidence rises; basically, and summarizing… I like what I see in the mirror! And I'm not the only one, because at home, others notice the difference, and even let out some compliments... ahh it's a good feeling and who doesn’t like compliments?
Regarding the products I normally use, I don’t wear any specific brand, but I appreciate quality (I don’t like to take risks when it comes to my skin!)
I usually use a cream-based foundation and a powder that helps set the foundation; some light and discreet shades (pink, beige, brown) for eyeshadow, a black pencil eyeliner to make the eyes look a little bigger and black mascara.
I'm not much of a blush fan because I always end up looking like a porcelain doll... naahh!
Ahh and I almost forgot the "madness" that being 28 years old brought me: now I also wear lipstick! Oh God, this is my latest addition, but I still don’t use it all the time; such a flashy thing must be introduced gradually :) Maybe one of these days I'll come back and go deeper into the subject of lipstick...
This is my experience when it comes to makeup, I do not always wear it, but when I do, I feel more confident and more beautiful. And, how good it is to make a positive impact, and see the delighted look on my other-half’s face.
